The Rural Energy for America Program Renewable Energy Systems & Energy Efficiency Improvement Loans & Grants is accepting applications.  This program provides guaranteed loan financing and grant funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses to purchase or install renewable energy systems or make energy efficiency improvements.

Ameren Transmission Line

Ameren Corp. is building a 100-mile transmission that would run through a corner of northeast Missouri, from the Iowa border through Kirksville to Palmyra. This line is part of the proposals to help improve the MISO grid and deliver power from wind to more regions. Read about it in the St. Louis Dispatch

A Senate committee has rejected two bills that would have expanded net metering in Montana.

Gov. Scott Walker proposes Wind Turbine Syndrome Study

Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin has proposed spending $250,000 to study the health effects of wind turbines.

"All peer-reviewed studies to date indicate using the wind is a safe way to generate electricity, far safer for human health than other forms of electricity production, such as coal," Tyler Huebner, executive director of RENEW Wisconsin, told HuffPost.

Amazon Signs Long-term Wind Power Contract In Indiana

"Although terms weren’t disclosed, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has signed a power purchased agreement with Pattern Energy Group to buy electricity generated by a 150-megawatt wind farm being built in Benton County, Indiana."
