Increased Net Metering legislation rejected in Montana

A Senate committee has rejected two bills that would have expanded net metering in Montana.

"Senate Bill 182, sponsored by Bozeman Democratic Sen. Mike Phillips, would have allowed for neighborhood net metering systems, where several homes could be served by a larger energy system.

Republican Sen. Jennifer Fielder's Senate Bill 134 would have let users with multiple meters spread credits from power generation across those meters. Under current law, net metering credits can only be used on the meter where the generator is connected."
